The Council of Communication Associations is an umbrella organization that currently includes eight national and international communication associations. CCA was created to enhance the mission and facilitate the activities of its member associations, and to promote understanding and advancement of communication as an academic discipline.

Members include:
American Journalism Historians Association
Association for Business Communication
Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication
Association of Schools of Journalism & Mass Communication
Black College Communication Association
Broadcast Education Association
International Communication Association
National Communication Association

CCA was created to enhance the mission and facilitate the activities of its member associations, and to promote understanding and advancement of communication as an academic discipline.

Each member provides two voting representatives to the Council. The group meets bi-annually, or as needed for specific projects.
